Christians enjoy cherished lives. They are sure that their walk is blessed and guided by an Ever-loving Creator. Often, many congregate at churches in fellowship with other believers. There, they find a deep joy in Gospel readings. The oil of gladness is reflected on their faces because they were anointed by the Holy Spirit. Their commitment in doing good works is crowned with their excellent service to mankind.

Robert Pirsig (b. 1928) an American writer stated, “When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any kind of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt.” A true Christian's belief is never fanatical. It is based on sound biblical teachings of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Model Christians are not members of cults and do not embrace their calling solely through whim or a charismatic figure. Christians are sober, humble and meek at heart.

A Proud Christian

Christians are blessed with contrite hearts. Their love is profound and reaches out to all they meet. For them, love knows no discrimination for it is balanced and fair-minded. We see this when they do volunteer work with and for charities. Christians are strong and courageous. Their structures are built on rock, so when the storms of life comes, they are able to withstand the onslaught of mighty winds. In manifesting and cultivating care and tenderness of souls, they become true models in their community. Through mere strength and calmness, they know what it is to dance with Mary - Mother of Joy. Great streams of happiness flow within and from them to everyone. Even in times of trial and tribulation, they are remarkable barometers of stability, goodness and peace.

Christians are like good seed planted in fertile soil. St. Matthew 13:22 was clear: “He also that receives seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.” The best believers are never unfruitful. They keep growing and bearing abundant fruit - for they know that their Heavenly Gardener will keep pruning their dead branches, to ensure that there will always be an an abundant harvest.

Christians of the Light

Like Christ, Christians are blessed with merciful hearts, and their patience is modeled after Him. They display remarkable understanding and are slow to anger. Their exuding care and protecting spirit is infectious. As a bride in Christ's church, they find great comfort in evangelizing. This ministry is one filled with constant joy, for even when they suffer setbacks, they know that Christ is present and will strengthen them. William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616), a greatly renowned English poet, playwright and actor expressed it best with Iago to Roderigo in Othello:

How poor are they that ha' not patience!
What wound did ever heal but by degrees?

Christians must always be patient. It is the prize of the race that counts. At times the going may be slow and difficult, but they must persevere. Never doubt, for through God's grace there will be unforeseen miracles on the horizon.

Christian Witnessing

Margaret Mitchell (1900 – 1949) an American writer who worked as a journalist with the Atlanta Constitution had Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind (1936) remark, “I'm going to live through this, and when it's over, I'm never going to be hungry again. No, nor any of my folks. If I have to steal or kill – as God is my witness, I'm never going to be hungry again.”

Unlike Mitchell's depiction of witnessing, a Christian's approach is Christ-like and he does not sin or threaten in the process. Many Christians witness by a demeanor of sacredness. With the Holy Spirit, he is a symbol of joy and tells freely about Christ's resurrection and His promises to mankind. His effusive kindness adapts and changes to every situation but his message is the same – give your life to Christ, for He died for you on the cross at Calvary. He resurrected, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father. Still, a Christian's testimony is new every morning - for the Scriptures by which he lives are spirit and life. This will always be his revelation for which he is blessed of knowing the truth about eternal life.
